How to Participate

The Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health is excited to celebrate all of our graduates accomplishments. In order to receive updates and information about Class Day including tickets, regalia and day of details, students must complete the graduation application process by the expected degree conferral deadlines in order to be on the listserv. Please note, you must also be subscribed to university related communication to receive graduation updates. 

Please read the below information in its entirety prior to requesting tickets.

Tickets and Registration

All eligible graduates participating in Mailman School's Class Day are required to register online in MarchingOrder. Once registered, graduates are able to request up to six (6) tickets for guests. Graduates do not need a ticket. For information on requesting tickets to University Commencement, please visit their website.

How to Register for Class Day

Mailman School has partnered with MarchingOrder for ticketing and name pronunciation for the 2024 Class Day ceremony. All eligible graduates who plan on attending Class Day on Tuesday, May 14 are required to register in MarchingOrder in order for their name to be announced at the ceremony as well as to obtain guest tickets.

  • March 22 - Graduates will receive an email to register for MarchingOrder and ticketing opens. Graduates may request up to six (6) tickets
  • April 20 - Deadline to create MarchingOrder registration and record name pronunciation
  • April 29 - Ticket allotment will be re-evaluated based on the number of graduates attending. This is the last day to be guaranteed six (6) guest tickets
  • April 30 -  *Notification of additional guest tickets IF available (not guaranteed)
  • May 3 - Ticketing closes 

*Additional tickets cannot be guaranteed. For students who need additional tickets, we highly encourage students to coordinate with classmates and peers who may not need all of their tickets.

Commencement season is a time to celebrate and enjoy your accomplishments. To honor the spirit and significance of this occasion, we do not permit the interruption of speakers or audience disruptions. All participants and guests attending Commencement season event(s) understand and agree to follow the responsibilities set forth in University policies, including the University Rules of Conduct and Standards and Discipline. Those found in violation will be asked to discontinue and may be asked to leave venue.
