Leadership Team

The origins of the Puerto Rico Fellowship started as a call from Dean Fried in 2017 to respond to hurricane related public health disaster in Puerto Rico by creating concerted responses for the crisis brought forth by Hurricanes Maria and Irma.  The formation of a working group led by faculty and staff from the Mailman School of Public Health was created and the Fellowship was conceptualized as a long-term initiative emphasizing community priorities in Puerto Rico and bsed on service learning, interprofessional eduation and community based participatory research.

The Puerto Rico Fellowship Executive Working Group (EWG) is comprised of faculty and staff representing the Office of Field Practice, Office of Student Affairs and Faculty from the Sociomedical Sciences department within the Mailman School of Public Health.  The EWG recruits, selects students and maintains collaborative relationships with community partners in Puerto Rico.
