2019 Alumni Summit

We are pleased to announce that the 2019 recent alumni award was given to Cynthia Cox, Vice President and Director for the Program on the Affordable Care Act (ACA) at the Kaiser Family Foundation. Cynthia does economic and policy research on the ACA and has published over 50 Kaiser Reports focusing on the ACA’s effect on private insurers and enrollees.  Cynthia also oversees the content on the Peterson-Kaiser Health System tracker monitoring the U.S. health system’s performance over time in comparison to other developed countries. She is also the author of the much-watched video Health Insurance Explained published in 2014.

Cynthia is also a highly engaged Mailman alumna. She has frequently participated in the Mailman/Columbia DC career week and has hosted Columbia students for informational sessions at the Kaiser office.  Cynthia has been praised by students as going the extra mile by providing counsel on job possibilities at Kaiser and in broader areas of her network. In addition to her Master of Public Health degree, Cynthia holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California, Berkeley.
