Community Impact

As Biostatistics faculty lead and collaborate on public health projects around the world, their work touches communities both near and far. Whether in New York City or overseas, the Department and faculty often provide regulatory expertise as well as training to agencies such as the Food and Drug Administration.

The Department’s clinical tracks have broad impact on communities by giving people the tools to ensure that the studies across a whole host of biomedical and public health topics are done correctly and the findings accurately tested for significance.

Biostatistics faculty also support public health research by involvement in the editorial process for major research journals. In addition to refereeing many papers on an ad hoc basis, faculty serve as continuing members of the editorial boards of several major journals including:
