sidHARTe was founded in 2008 to respond to: the need for district hospitals to prioritize and respond to acute medical needs, where resources are limited and skilled healthcare providers are scarce, and patients with life threatening conditions have long wait times.

We were tasked to improve clinical training to better prioritize and respond to acute medical needs of the patients’ that they serve, acute care process improvement, and supervision of health workers for acute care in LMIC. Training programs became the cornerstone of our first years in order to fill critical gaps. Through additional discussions with local partners and needs and resource assessments, our programs have evolved to answer key research questions, develop technical tools to inform policy decisions, and continue to build the capacity of healthcare workers.
