  • The Kresge Foundation has issued a request for proposals (RFP) for the foundation’s Climate Change, Health & Equity initiative (CCHE); they seek applicants to propose and execute community-based projects focusing on climate resilience work that advances health outcomes and is grounded in racial equity and social justice; a Letter of Intent is due by 11:59 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time on March 19, 2019.

  • Several travel and research awards are available for the American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene 2019 Annual Meeting (November 20–24, 2019 in Maryland, USA); deadlines March 20 and April 10, 2019.

  • Wellcome Trust will be launching a planetary health funding call in early 2019 that will include funding for projects related to climate change.

  • Clif Bar Family Foundation awards small grants to organizations that reduce environmental health hazards and address other funding priorities; applications are reviewed three times per year: February 1st, June 1st, and October 1st.

  • Wallace Global Fund supports projects related to ecological collapse and climate change, among other key topics.

  • The Planetary Health Alliance and Stanford University have issued a call for abstracts for the third Annual Meeting on Planetary Health on September 4-6, 2019 at Stanford University in California, USA; the three categories for abstract submission are: Scientific Research, Education, and Policy & Practice; submissions are due by 1700h EST (2200h GMT) on April 1, 2019. 

  • Resources, Conservation & Recycling has issued a call for papers for a Special Issue on Sustainable Healthcare; manuscript submission deadline: June 1, 2019.

  • PLOS ONE has issued an Urban Ecosystems Call for Papers on the intersection of ecological, climatological, and sociological patterns and processes within urban systems; articles are due by July 12, 2019.

  • The BMJ is planning a special series on planetary health and practical transformations needed to improve human health and protect essential natural systems and issued a call for submissions.

  • A new journal from Cell Press entitled One Earth is accepting manuscripts on environmental change and sustainability science.

  • PLOS Medicine is accepting papers on climate change and health research and policy on an ongoing basis.
