CII Scientist Wins “Autism Speaks” Grant

Dr. Brent Williams and the CII have been awarded a $450,000 grant from Autism Speaks, “the world's leading autism science and advocacy organization”. To date, Autism Speaks has committed more than $195 million for research projects that advance the understanding, prevention and treatment of autism spectrum disorders (ASD).

Dr. Williams’ award is 1 of 14 granted this year, which were selected from a field of 136 proposals. The funds will be used to advance Dr. Williams’ work on the possible connection between gastrointestinal (GI) disturbances and autism severity.
