Data Science for Public Health Summit

The Columbia Mailman School of Public Health, in partnership with the Columbia University Data Science Institute, is pleased the announce the inaugural Data Science for Public Health Summit. The Summit brings together representatives of schools of public health across the country to shape the future of public health applications of data science.

The Summit will address the unique features of public health that demand tailoring of data science approaches. For example, we will explore the ethical issues surrounding the use of data science in population health, educational needs for MPH and PhD students and for the existing workforce through continuing education, data analytic workflows for wearable devices, social media and mental health, and machine learning and artificial intelligence to study disease outbreaks and population health trends.
