The United Nations has declared that 2019 is the International Year of Indigenous Languages. Because the cultures to which the languages belong are at risk, they've put out a call to promote and protect the languages. Our speakers will talk about their work revitalizing their native language. They will speak on the relationship between indigenous language and indigenous forms of storytelling, as sources of strength, wisdom, resilience, and well-being and how language can help with cultural revitalization.
