Biography

Dr. McNeil is the Chief of Administration for Columbia Health and Adjunct Assistant Professor of Sociomedical Sciences at the Mailman School of Public Health. Prior to his current role he led health promotion offices at three campuses, including Alice! Health Promotion at Columbia University. He also led the development, implementation, and evaluation of multiple national award winning health promotion efforts. He has served as the member and Chair of sections, taskforces, and committees for NASPA, National Commission for Health Education Credentialing, and the American College Health Association. His varied contributions to the field include having served as an expert on Alcohol, Tobacco, and Other Drugs for ACHA and BACCHUS and leading the BACCHUS Sexperts for the last 15 years. Dr. McNeil proudly serves as the leading publisher behind the Go Ask Alice! Health Q&A Website, globally rated as the most reliable online source of health information. His research interests span a broad range of topics in student health and student affairs. He has conducted studies on linking health promotion with student academic success, professional preparation regarding health promotion in higher education, and is current preparing manuscripts addressing topics including the spectrum of sexual infections, and a temporal exploration of alcohol use in college undergraduates. Additionally, Dr. McNeil is the author of dozens of practice-oriented articles and hundreds of presentations.
