Parking

On-Campus Parking

Parking in the CUMC campus area is a scarce resource. The Facilities Office is responsible for managing the 24-hour and commuter parking lots. Due to ongoing construction and the limited supply of on-site parking at the Medical Center, we are unable to issue any guest vouchers or parking permits for CUMC students, faculty, staff or guests at this time.

Parking Locations

Facilities Management operates four parking facilities:

  1. 100 Haven Avenue, Haven Avenue at 171st Street
  2. Allan Rosenfield Building, 722 West 168th Street

Parking Alternatives

By New York City Public Transportation

Take the 1 (local), A (express), or C (local) trains to the 168th Street Station. You must purchase a MetroCard to ride the subway. A number of city buses also serve CUMC (M2, M3, M4, M5, and M100). Maps of bus and subway routes are available on the Metropolitan Transportation Authority website.

By Bicycle

Escape the subway crowds and the traffic jams by bicycling to CUMC. Bicycling is a healthy, economical, fun, and environmentally friendly way to commute. Bicycle racks located at CUMC are for daily use; long-term storage is prohibited. Bicycle rack locations can be found on the Department of Public Safety website.

By Inter-Campus Shuttle Bus

A free shuttle bus connects CUMC with the Morningside Heights and Manhattanville campuses as well as affiliate Harlem Hospital. The Intercampus shuttle runs Monday through Friday, excluding University holidays. Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Shuttle times are approximate and are subject to traffic. Shuttle service schedules and news can be found on the Transportation Services website.

By Taxi

CUMC is located at West 168th Street and Broadway, immediately southeast of the George Washington Bridge, in the Washington Heights/Inwood section of northern Manhattan. Please note only green or yellow cabs may legally solicit customers with offers of transportation.

By Train or Interstate Bus

Amtrak trains to New York arrive at Pennsylvania Station; buses stop at the Port Authority Bus Terminal. Visitors arriving at these stations can take either public transportation or a taxi north to CUMC.

On-Street Parking

Metered and non-metered parking is available on New York City streets. Parking information and traffic advisories are available on the Department of Transportation website.
