Building: A Place to Convene and Innovate

Located at the center of Columbia’s medical campus, the Mailman School's Allan Rosenfield Building is an ideal convening place for public health and interdisciplinary leaders. And an effort is underway to update our original 1929 building to reflect this enduring influence.

On the first floor, the School plans to create a dramatic environment that will foster shared innovation, support major conferences and promote collaboration, including a social innovation lab and gathering places for students, faculty, and guests. A terrace overlooking the Hudson River will also provide an unparalleled event space.

In addition, the School plans to expand faculty offices and student space to accommodate new programs and to unify the campus by providing faculty members who currently work offsite with space on campus.
