Mission

The Office of Career Services (OCS) is committed to supporting Mailman School students and alumni with the career education process by:

  1. Helping you develop and refine your career exploration and career management strategies;

  2. Providing infrastructure to support successful job searches, both while you are attending school and after graduating; and

  3. Effectively market you and the School to many different employers.

We encourage students and alumni to:

  • Schedule an appointment with a staff member for career counseling/advising.

  • Log in to CareerLink and visit the Resource Library to download handouts and the Career Handbook, and become familiar with our career management services and resources, ranging from resume critiques to tips for negotiating job offers.

  • Visit our Resource Room, which houses a career reference library, computers, printer, fax, scanner, and copier.

  • Review our web pages to become familiar with our career management services and resources, ranging from resume critiques to tips for negotiating job offers.

  • Attend our events, including workshops, employer presentations, and career fairs, listed in the CareerLink calendar.

FAQ

Is there an on-campus recruiting program?

The Office of Career Services hosts two career fairs each year, one in the fall and one in the spring. Participating employers represent government, nonprofit, academic, research, consulting, and pharmaceutical organizations and more. Employers also periodically visit campus for information sessions.

Does the Office of Career Services manage a listserv?

Weekly during the academic year and bi-weekly in the summer, the Office of Career Services distributes weekly announcements, featuring full-time, part-time, and internship opportunities, as well as career management topics, to current students and alumni. Matriculated students are automatically subscribed to this newsletter.
