The Aetna insurance and SHS contract are for the entire contract policy (12 month) year: August 17 to August 16, although charges are applied per semester to match financial aid awards. Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health now offers a gold plan and a platinum plan. A change in status such as (but not limited to) full time to part/half time or a leave will not release students from spring charges. Students covered by comparable medical insurance of their own may elect to waive this fee. Waiver forms can be found on the Student Health Services site.
