The Mailman School has dedicated itself to responding to the health needs of the Washington Heights and Harlem communities since its inception, attending to a variety of healthcare issues, among them prevention, treatment and counseling on health issues such as infectious disease, obesity, reproductive health, and asthma. The School runs a number of school-based clinics that expose students to real world public health work while simultaneously providing healthcare services to underserved communities.
The School’s international work spans more than100 countries around the globe. All Mailman School programs emphasize capacity building and training in order to promote the transfer of knowledge and skills – ensuring the expansion and sustainability of our projects over time.
The Office of Development and Alumni Affairs raises the funds necessary to launch and sustain the School’s strategic initiatives. With a number of profoundly serious public health issues currently facing populations - and more looming on the horizon – it is now more critical than ever to promote the efforts of a premier school of public health that offers new and timely approaches to healthcare. Your support enables the School to fulfill its mission of attaining new knowledge about the health of populations, educating and training future leaders in public health, and translating this knowledge into action that has a pioneering impact on such public health areas as urban health, maternal and child health, global health, chronic disease, mental health, healthy aging, infectious disease, environmental health, and climate change and health.
Every gift makes a difference – please donate now.
