Food, Physical Activity, and Wellness Lab

The Food, Physical Activity, and Wellness Lab focuses on behavioral interventions for cancer prevention and control, as well as validating and testing complementary and alternative approaches to the treatment of cancers, with particular emphasis on breast and colorectal cancers. In essence, we want to understand what cancer survivors can do, in addition to conventional care, to improve cancer outcomes.

Our team is cross-disciplinary in practice with collaborators from diverse academic and professional fields allowing us to effectively design and implement interventions, conduct longitudinal clinical trials and observational research, and evaluate the effectiveness of our programs and interventions methodology. Our research uses both clinical and observational trials to examine the effects of a wide range of behaviors and interventions on cancer outcomes including diet, physical activity, weight loss, and the use of integrative therapies.

Our active partnerships with national cancer groups and our location at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital provide us with direct access to large and diverse patient populations.
