At Two Fronts

The RAISE Initiative, a joint program of the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health and Marie Stopes International, commemorates World Health Day on April 7 with a compelling new video, At Two Fronts: The Story of Reproductive Health in Emergencies. The video helps to spread the word about a crucial but often forgotten health need.

At Two Fronts offers the viewer glimpses into life as it is lived in conflict and natural disaster, and highlights a simple fact: in complex emergencies and their aftermath, reproductive health needs do not vanish; they intensify. Comprehensive reproductive health care is a life-saving, but frequently neglected, necessity for refugees and internally displaced people.

Through technical support, clinical training, advocacy, and research, RAISE is catalyzing change in global reproductive health service delivery for refugees and internally displaced persons. RAISE and its partners are working to ensure that the full range of reproductive health care is available as part of the standard humanitarian response.
