» Mailman School Experience » Making an Impact
The Mailman School is a global presence built on local excellence. Whether promoting the health and well-being of America’s impoverished families and children, working in resource-limited communities to improve reproductive health for women, or developing models of care and treatment for HIV-infected people in Africa and Asia, we are committed to meeting the health needs of underserved populations in all corners of the world.
In addition, we have embraced our location in New York City as an opportunity to plunge into every aspect of urban healthcare. The School works with diverse populations throughout the City’s five boroughs on HIV/AIDS education, prevention, and care; smoking cessation initiatives; school-based clinics; and programs to stem the growing asthma epidemic in our urban environment.
“One of the most compelling aspects of this School for me is its strong tradition of translation of knowledge into impact through service and advocacy.”
