Jenny A. Higgins

Assistant Professor of Population and Family Health


Biography:
Jenny A. Higgins, PhD, MPH, is a feminist researcher and sexual health advocate. She employs mixed methods approaches (especially qualitative) to explore relationships between sexuality, gender, and the use of condoms and other contraceptive methods. Dr. Higgins also studies how women's and men's sexual pleasure-seeking influences the risk of HIV and unintended pregnancy, and how pleasure can be used to promote safer sex. After receiving her PhD in women?s studies and MPH in global health from Emory University, Dr. Higgins completed postdoctoral fellowships at Columbia University?s HIV Center for Clinical and Behavioral Studies and Princeton University?s Office of Population Research.
