Office of Academic Affairs

The Office of Academic Affairs, in collaboration with the Mailman School’s Department Chairs and Center Directors, provides opportunities for professional growth of our faculty; supports quality improvements in our educational programs and the promotion of teaching excellence; and oversees the appointments and promotions process. The office directs the School’s orientation of new faculty, the junior faculty mentoring process, and annual faculty reviews; administers and analyzes student course evaluations and student graduation exit surveys; and provides institutional research on our educational programs and student enrollment.

Academic Affairs is also responsible for coordinating classroom schedules and other operational elements of the School’s educational enterprise. In addition, the office coordinates the School’s Grand Rounds on the Future of Public Health and other extended curriculum activities. Finally, the office monitors our Council on Education in Public Health accreditation compliance and oversees preparation of the School’s self-study documentation for re-accreditation.
