The Mailman School welcomed its first International Doctoral School in Global Health (INDIGO) students at a reception hosted by Dean Linda Fried.
The students are drawn from sub-Saharan Africa, and their studies at the School provide a key foundation in their research to improve the effectiveness of public health services in their home countries.
As part of the School’s new Global Health Initiative (GHI), INDIGO realizes two major objectives of the GHI by enabling future research leaders of Africa to access the extensive expertise of the School’s faculty while also bringing the knowledge and perspective of those researchers into the classroom.
