The Office of Academic Affairs wishes to thank all participants in the Mailman School’s inaugural Summer Symposium for Advancing Leadership and Learning in Public Health, held on Thursday, June 24th.
The “day of education” was led by some of the School’s outstanding teachers and education experts from across campus, and featured a plenary session by Ken Bain, PhD, author of What the Best College Teachers Do (Harvard University Press, 2004).
The Summer Symposium provided a forum for lively and substantive dialogue about a wide range of teaching and learning issues within the context of public health education, for faculty, doctoral students (the “future professoriate”), and staff. All seminars were interactive, solidly grounded in research on teaching and learning, and offered practical suggestions that instructors could incorporate into their classrooms.
