The Mailman School is accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH). The School values the role that accreditation plays in advancing the field of public health and ensuring quality in our School and our peers.
As part of the re-accreditation process, the School prepared an analytical self-study document that provides a qualitative and quantitative assessment of how well the School achieves its mission, goals and objectives and meets the accreditation criteria, as well as a candid assessment of strengths and weaknesses in terms of the School’s performance against the accreditation criteria. The self-study process and report is nearly three-years in the making and engaged individuals from across the Mailman School and our key constituent groups.
A five person, external committee, organized by CEPH, will review the self-study and conduct a site visit. The site-visit team consists of public health academics, practitioners, and accreditation specialists. The School’s site visit is Tuesday, April 20 through Thursday, April 22. The site visit team will meet with the School’s senior leadership, faculty, staff, students, alumni, and community partners as well as senior leadership of CUMC and the University.
As a member of the Mailman School community, the self-study is provided for your review; please use the link below to download. Comments or questions may be directed to Ian Lapp, PhD, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Education (IL2011@columbia.edu, 212-305-1204).
