"Biological Mechanisms at the Crossroads of Aging and Chronic Diseases" Luigi Ferrucci, MD, PhD Dr. Luigi Ferrucci has served in NIA’s Intramural Research Program (IRP) as chief of the Longitudinal Studies Section in the Clinical Research Branch since 2002, where he also directs the Baltimore Longitudinal Study of Aging (BLSA). Dr. Ferrucci has served as editor of the Journal of Gerontology: Medical Sciences since 2005, associate editor of the Journal of Cachexia, Sarcopenia and Muscle, and is on the editorial board of Geriatría y Gerontología (Barcelona, Spain). He is a reviewer for The Wellcome Trust (London, England). |

4:00 - 5:30 pm The Eighteenth Granville H. Sewell Distinguished Lecture in Environmental Health Sciences "Perspective on the Role of Genetic Toxicology in Public Health"
Dr. Samuel H. Wilson heads the DNA Repair & Nucleic Acid Enzymology Group at the NIEHS. He began his career as a principal investigator in 1970 at NIH's National Cancer Institute, then, in 1991, Dr. Wilson moved to the extramural community to found a center focused in the area of genetic toxicology, structural biology and functional genomics. Dr. Wilson has authored and co-authored more than 400 research and environmental health policy publications and has been editor of several reference volumes. From 1996 to 2009, he served as Deputy Director and Acting Director of NIEHS. |
