DrPh Degree in Environmental Health Sciences

The goal of the DrPH (Doctorate of Public Health) degree is to train our students to be independent thinkers who can critically evaluate data and create and carry out studies related to environmental health issues. The overall pedagogy of the program develops leaders with critical scientific skills in environmental science that can be applied to human health with the ultimate goal to take up independent careers in academia, industry and government. Our students achieve this through course work and independent research. Our goal is to train students not only in having skills to conduct the highest quality of research, but in addition, to learn how to communicate their knowledge to the scientific community and the larger lay community as well.

The DrPH degree is conferred through the Mailman School of Public Health and graduates of the DrPH typically go into leadership positions in the Environmental Health field such as the Environmental Protection Agency, the Department of Health, and various private and public agencies.
