Alumni and Student Networking Dinner

Alumnae Gilda Glasinovich, MD, MPH ’94 (center) with students

Alumni representing a number of different fields came back to the School earlier in the week to talk with students and share their career experiences as part of the Alumni Leaders and Student Networking Dinner.

Sponsored by the Mailman School’s Student Government Association, in collaboration with the Office of Student Affairs and the Office of Alumni Affairs, the dinner is designed to promote a series of quick and meaningful discussions between alumni and students in an informal setting that resembles “speed dating.”

Approximately thirty students attended the event where they met with a small group of alumni with diverse backgrounds in academic and professional training. Throughout the evening, the students rotated around the room giving them the opportunity to meet and engage with the alumni.

The dinner enabled students to learn more not just about alumni experiences at the Mailman School and their career paths, but also to get feedback on what alumni look for in an ideal candidate when they are hiring.

The Mailman School would like to thank the alumni participants for sharing their time and experience with the students:

  • Jennifer Bain (MPH’09), Evaluation Coordinator, International Planned Parenthood Federation
  • Traci C. Burgess, MD (MPH’97), Obstetrician and Gynecologist, Maimonides Medical Center
  • Gilda A. Glasinovich, MD (MPH’94), Executive Director of Global Center for Health, Education and the Environment-UN
  • Monique Hedmann, (MPH’09), Project Coordinator, Walk It Out!, Harlem Hospital Center
  • Megan Leese (MPH’07), Senior Program Manager, New York Network Management, United Healthcare
