Take a Look at What PrIMER Alumni Have Been Up To

Jorge Carranza Bonilla (2016) is currently a middle school science teacher and participated in environmental and sustainability projects in the Bronx. Below is a testimonial sent to Dr. Norman Kleiman:

I am forever grateful for the research we did and the foundations in public health. I am deeply committed to the well-being of our communities and inspired by the work you do.

Kaila Boyer (2018) matriculated into the Master of Public Health program here at Environmental Health Sciences department at Mailman.

PrIMER was a very rewarding experience and influenced my decision to pursue my MPH in the department. The skills I learned during PrIMER have helped me in my classes and with my current research. In the future, I plan on applying to medical school and would like to be involved in the environmental health field throughout my career.

Dahiana Pena (2020) will matriculate into the Master of Public Health program in the Epidemiology department here at Mailman.

As a first-generation student, I'm thankful that PrIMER gave me the opportunity to participate in public health research and integrate myself with Mailman's rich and supportive community. I am especially thankful to Dr. Perzanowski and Nina for their mentorship and am excited to enroll at Mailman for Fall of 2022!

Michelle Rodriguez (2017) and Dr. Norman Kleiman have recently had their article on ‘Microbial Contamination Risk and Disinfection of Radiation Protective Garments’ accepted for publication in ‘Health Physics’.

My two-year experience with PrIMER motivated me to pursue a Master of Science in Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences. After completing my degree in Spring 2022, I want to explore the possibility of a PhD in public health and ultimately want to pursue a career in research.
