We look for trainees with a demonstrated interest in pursuing a career in the genetic analysis of complex disorders, preferably also with training in statistics, medicine/psychiatry, epidemiology, and/or biostatistics. Predoctoral trainees must have a master's degree and are usually pursuing doctorates in biostatistics, epidemiology, or genetics, although other departments are also possible; postdoctoral trainees must have a PhD, MD, or equivalent degree.
Columbia University is an affirmative action/equal opportunity employer and encourages applications from women, underrepresented minorities, individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds, and individuals with disabilities. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent resident aliens.
We have rolling admissions, depending on when openings become available. Please submit inquiries and applications to gcdtrain@shallot.cpmc.columbia.edu.
Predoctoral fellows: While most fellows are graduate students in the Departments of Epidemiology or Biostatistics, it is possible to participate in the program from other departments (e.g., Genetics).
Postdoctoral fellows typically take courses in the Mailman School of Public Health, and may take courses at other Columbia University schools as well.
