The Department of Epidemiology currently offers four seminars series, sponsored by a combination of training programs and research centers. Active seminar series include the following:
The Cancer Epidemiology Training Program sponsors a weekly multidisciplinary seminar series that brings together pre- and postdoctoral trainees from both the T32 and R25 groups, along with the cancer faculty. Trainees are encouraged to present at these sessions. The diversity of the group leads to much cross-fertilization and sharing of ideas.
Seminars are held Friday afternoons from 12:00 – 1:00.
The infectious disease seminar series is jointly sponsored by the Center for Infectious Disease Epidemiologic Research (CIDER), the Infectious Disease Epidemiology Training Program, and the Fogarty AITRP.
Seminars take place Friday afternoons from 2:45 – 4:00.
The faculty fellow seminars are the backbone of the Psychiatric Epidemiology Training (PET) program, providing a venue where faculty and fellows can present their ongoing work and obtain critical feedback. In addition, we recruit speakers and develop workshops on topics and approaches that complement program courses and departmental faculty expertise. The seminars therefore provide a space for faculty and fellows to interact and discuss current topics germane to psychiatric epidemiology.
Seminars take place on Thursdays from 12:30 – 2:00.
The Imprints Center provides a valuable setting for intellectual exchange, supporting methodologic strategies, identifying new research opportunities, and training of interested colleagues and students. One of the vehicles for accomplishing this is our series of educational seminars and workshops.
These seminars are open to faculty and students. For additional information or to confirm attendance please contact Kim Fader.
