Epidemiology

A large number of Epidemiology faculty have joint appointments across the CUMC including various departments at the College of Physicians and Surgeons (P&S) e.g., Medicine, Pediatrics, Neurology, Psychiatry, Anesthesiology, and Obstetrics/Gynecology; many of these faculty members are leaders in those departments.

On the Columbia University Morningside campus, the Department maintain close ties with the Department of Sociology and the School of Social Work, connections that are embodied in both research and training initiatives.

In addition, the Department of Epidemiology works closely with public health agencies in New York City and New York State. Key figures in the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (NYC DOHMH) or the New York State Office of Mental Health (NYS OMH) serve as faculty, and many of our graduates go on to work with Departments of Health.
