Upon admission to the program, each student will meet with the Director of Educational Affairs and the Academic Program Manager. These two resources will provide information and recommendations regarding course work, qualifying examinations, and other academic issues during the student’s first years in the program. They will assist students with mapping out an appropriate course work plan for the first two years.
There is no required number of credits that a student must earn. However, each student must complete courses in their first 2 years of the program and may take additional courses as appropriate after that point. The curriculum recommendations for the two tracks (Molecular Epidemiology and Molecular Toxicology) are below.
Upon the successful completion of two years of course work students are awarded a Masters of Arts (MA) degree if they have not acquired an MA degree prior to this program.
The Master’s of Philosophy (MPhil) degree is awarded to students following the successful completion of their qualifying examination. This typically occurs in the summer of the second year. For more information visit our qualifying exam pages.
