All students must teach during their graduate training. Teaching consists of one of the following: 1) being a Teaching Assistant in the Core Course for one semester, 2) giving a minimum of one lecture per year in a graduate course, typically in a course taught by the student’s mentor, and 3) an equivalent effort that can be developed between the student, their advisor, and the Director of the DrPH Program, Dr. Greg Freyer.
For support with your teaching-related efforts, please contact the Graduate School of Arts & Sciences Teaching Center which is also open to all DrPH students. The GSAS Teaching Center is the go-to-place for practical advice about teaching, from course design to assessment, from preparing a teaching philosophy to assembling a teaching portfolio, from course management to the innovative use of teaching. It is located at 301 Philosophy. They can also be reached by calling 212-854-1066 or emailing Teaching Center Director Steven Mintz.
