Administrative Assistant

Ms. Amy Figueroa was born and raised in Washington Heights. She is currently attending John Jay College for her bachelor degree in Forensic Science. In her early teenage years she joined a non-profit community service organization called “Fresh Youth Initiatives.” In this organization, Amy logged over 800 hours of community service in activities such as soup kitchens, park clean-ups, clothing distribution, mural paintings. etc.

She currently works at Columbia University as an administrative assistant/event coordinator. For the past 2 years, Amy has coordinated an annual outdoor event called Hike the Heights. Hosted at Highbridge Park, Hike the Heights provides an opportunity to promote physical activity as well as use of the parks. Amy is going on her 3rd year coordinating the event, and is looking forward to engaging as many community members as possible to partcipate in this wonderful project.
