This fall in Bethesda, Maryland, Federal leaders in medicine and health, principal investigators, health advocacy organizations, and others interested in advancing clinical trial research will come together for The Scientific Advances in Adaptive Clinical Trial Design Workshop.
Co-chaired Bruce Levin, PhD, professor and department chair of Biostatistics, the workshop will provide an important forum for NIH researchers and Food and Drug Administration (FDA) professionals to explore the potential utility of adaptive designs.
The use of adaptive clinical trial designs (ACTDs) is a promising development as ACTDs may provide alternative approaches to data analysis and decision making. These adaptive approaches open the door to conducting valid research that requires fewer human participants and significantly shortens the time it takes to bring a new therapy into practice.
Dr. Levin will be joined by co-chair Christopher Coffey, associate professor, University of Alabama at Birmingham. For more information on the workshop, visit the conference site.
