The Frank A. Calderone Award

On October 18, 2011, the Mailman School of Public Health presented the 2011 Frank A. Calderone Award to Harvey Fineberg, MD, PhD, President of the Institute of Medicine, the health branch of the National Academy of Sciences, at a gala event before a packed room of public health leaders and alumni.

Dr. Fineberg joins a prominent list of public health officials to receive the award including C. Everett Koop, MD, ScD, former Surgeon General of the United States; William Foege, MD, MPH, former director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Mary Robinson, former President of Ireland and U.N. High Commissioner for Human Rights.
